Sending Child to School Situations

  • Supporting Students During Periods of Quarantine or Isolation

    We have students who are entering periods of quarantine or isolation. Here the ways in which your child will receive support from their teachers. At both schools, students will have a combination of asynchronous (completed independently at a time of the family's choosing) and synchronous ("live" instruction with the teacher and other students) each day, beginning on Day 2 of any quarantine or isolation period.

    Spring Hills School

    Our emphasis for our elementary students will be reading and math. Students will receive instruction in both of these areas every day through a combination of live, whole group, small group, individual time through the use of Google Meets. This instruction will be with the child's regular classroom teacher. Art, music and physical education will provide asynchronous work for students. Students who receive special education or second language services will have synchronous time with these specialists. The specialist will contact the family and make arrangements for this support and to provide services.

    Roselle Middle School

    Students will receive both asynchronous work and synchronous instruction during periods of isolation or quarantine in their classes. Specials and electives will be a combination of asynchronous and synchronous work depending on the day's lesson. Students who receive special education or second language services will have synchronous time with these specialists. The specialist will contact the family and make arrangements for this support and to provide services.

    As a reminder to all families, students invited to join their classes remotely are for COVID-19 quarantine or isolation purposes only. If your child has to miss a day of school for a non-COVID illness or parent excusal absence, we will support their catch up when they return.

  • Who Do I Contact with Questions or Concerns?

    With many new families, it is always helpful to review communication protocols:

    1. Questions or concerns about your child's classroom: Please contact the teacher directly, either by email or leaving a message with the school office. If, after communicating with the teacher, the issue is not resolved, please contact the school principal.

    2. Questions or concerns about school operations: Please contact the school principal.
